Astreyja is a Swedish children´s modular furniture system based on the original designs by Lars Liljekvist, furniture designer and interior architect. Love Liljekvist, architect designer, and Lars son, is bringing back the line starting with the foundational Liten chair.
Liten chair has proven its durability and quality. One of the original chairs produced in the 80`s has served Lars own children and 7 grandchildren - currently battle tested by Love´s daughters Astrid and Freyja. Astreyja blends modern design with a commitment to innovation, and flexible products that will last for generations.
Visionary Designer Behind Astreyja
Lars Liljekvist
The Astreyja chairs was designed by Lars Liljekvist in the early 1970`s. He originally created it for his children and entered it in an international competition. However, when Lars co-founded Round Office, it demanded all his time, and the chair project was set aside.
Lars is an accomplished interior architect, designer, and furniture maker. Before co-founding the world-renowned company Round Office in the 1980s, Lars designed the iconic "Extra" chair, which has been exhibited at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. His work, characterized by a blend of functionality and aesthetic appeal, has made an impact on the design world.

The side frames are made from solid birch, providing stability, strength, and long-lasting support. This ensures the chair can handle everyday use while maintaining its clean Scandinavian lines.

Through careful molding, the veneer is pressed into smooth curves that form the seat and back. The rounded edges eliminate sharp corners, offering both safety for children and timeless design appeal.
